Coastal Resources Director in Chatham, Ted Keon previously worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. In his position in Chatham, he oversees dredging and coastal infrastructure projects, including coastal resiliency studies. He’s watched Chatham’s coastline change dramatically over the past two decades, and has seen what would otherwise be natural processes exacerbated by climate change. While sea level rise doesn’t doom Chatham, he says that it has the potential to dramatically reshape the coastline and threaten coastal infrastructure that the community depends on for the fishing and tourism industries.
